Sandringham, the private home of the last six British monarchs, sits amid parkland, gardens and working farms about 110 miles (180 kilometers) north of London. This history has made Sandringham a special place for Charles and his entire family. One of the most famous stately homes in Britain, Sandringham sits on an 8,000-hectare (20,000-acre) estate in Norfolk on the eastern coast of England. On the day he died, George reportedly spent the afternoon on the estate with his dogs and a gun. Friday’s winning bid for “The Dynasty Collection” reached $8,032,800, setting a new global auction record for game-worn sneakers, according to auction house Sotheby’s. The set consisted of Air Jordan VI (1991), Air Jordan VII (1992), Air Jordan VIII (1993), Air Jordan XI (1996), Air Jordan XII (1997), and Air Jordan XIV (1998). “This set represents the most valuable and significant collection of Air Jordan sneakers ever brought to market,” the auction house said on its website ahead of the auction. An exceptional player, Jordan earned the nickname “Air Jordan” because of his incredible leaping ability and acrobatic maneuvers. The Air Jordan line has been coveted by sneakerheads ever since the ex-Bulls star wore them in his rookie year – with a buoyant resale market for his range.

The six individual sneakers were all worn by Jordan during the game-clinching NBA finals in the 1990s. During his career, the basketball superstar went to the NBA Finals six times and won each time. The set of winning sneakers include Air Jordan VI (1991), Air Jordan VII (1992), Air Jordan VIII (1993), Air Jordan XI (1996), Air Jordan XII (1997), and Air Jordan XIV (1998). CNN —House Education Committee Chairwoman Rep. Virginia Foxx blasted Harvard University on Tuesday evening for failing to turn over all the documents lawmakers demanded in their antisemitism investigation into the Ivy League school. Harvard faced a 5 pm ET deadline on Tuesday to respond to a demand from lawmakers for a mountain of documents relating to antisemitism on campus. Last week, Alan Garber, Harvard’s interim president, unveiled two presidential task forces aimed at fighting antisemitism and Islamophobia. The House investigation is separate from a probe by the same committee into how Harvard responded to plagiarism allegations against its former president, Claudine Gay. The Department of Education has also launched an unprecedented number of Title VI investigations into colleges, including Harvard, the University of Pennsylvania and Cornell University.
